Punjab Government establishes 4 new laboratories to conduct free of cost dengue test
Batala, May 17 (Amrik Matharoo/Guri Sandhu ) – Punjab Government dedicated 4 new Laboratories for free testing of Dengue to the people of the State. The new labs have been made functional at Sub-divisional Hospital Kharar, Rajpura, Abohar and Jagraon.
Giving details about this Chairman, Punjab Health Systems Corporation, Mr. Amardeep Singh Cheema said that with inclusion of these 4 labs, Punjab has now 39 laboratories in State for free testing of Dengue and Chikungunya. State has already procured testing kits for all the laboratories and all labs are testing for Dengue.
Chairman Mr. Cheema appealed to the people of the State that transmission season of Dengue has started in the State and people should cooperate in preventing dengue during the ongoing pandemic of Covid-19. He said that the mosquito for transmission of dengue (Aedes) breeds in clean water and develops to and adult mosquito in a week so all water containers like coolers, empty bottles, drums, trays of referigerators should be emptied once a week. Govt. of Punjab has already declared every Friday as Dry Day.
